MAKE YOUR MARK

God has opened the door for our church to purchase 4.7 acres of land to serve as a permanent home for ReThink Life Church. Will you join us by partnering as a church family as we make our mark on SE Orlando and beyond with the hope-filled message of Jesus? It’s time to make our mark for future generations!

Pastor Rodney and Michelle Gage

Where Is The Land Located?

The 4.7 acres parcel of land is strategically located at 2550 N. Narcoossee Road, just 4.8 miles from Lake Nona High School. It is also located one mile south of Cyrils Dr., which serves as the south entrance to the brand-new SunBridge Community, owned and developed by Tavistock.

Currently, Osceola County is the 2nd fastest-growing county in Florida and the 7th fastest-growing county in the nation. This is why this property is a strategic location for visibility and accessibility for the new home of ReThink Life Church. With over 40,000 cars traveling by this location daily, this parcel of land connects the Southern boundary of Orange County and the Northern boundary of Osceola County and SunBridge Community. These are just a few of the distinctive advantages this property will provide us to fulfill our vision and to serve as a permanent location.

Why Land, Why Now?

Being portable in rented school facilities has tremendous challenges and limitations. It also puts us in a vulnerable situation as a church, as we experienced during the pandemic. In addition to the physical challenges, we are also at the mercy of the school calendar, OCPS policies, and high rental fees. We also have a vision for a vibrant youth ministry and other ministry gatherings. Space to accommodate these gatherings is unavailable during the week at LNHS.

As King Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 11:4, "If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done." Waiting has only allowed land to grow more expensive and become less available due to the rapid growth in our area. Very few parcels are left close to Lake Nona High School at a reasonable price for us to purchase as a church. The time is now to take possession of the land so we can move forward to build our future as a church that will impact Central Florida and the world.

The key is for EVERYONE to participate and do what you can. We may not be able to give equal gifts, but EVERYONE can do something.

1 Chronicles 29:9 (NLT)

The people rejoiced over the offerings, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the LORD.

7 Creative Ways To Give To The Make Your Mark Initiative Without Taking A Second Job.

1.  Sell stuff! Have a garage sale, use platforms like Facebook Marketplace, e-Bay, OfferUp or Nextdoor to sell clothes, movies, dish-ware, electronics, furniture, books, video games, etc.  Make money on things in your home, that you either don't need or can live without and donate the proceeds to the Make Your Mark Initiative.

2.  Commit to not eating out for an entire month! The average family spends just shy of $300 a month on eating out.

3.  Be a coupon clipper! Food is probably our largest expense each month. By taking the time to clip coupons you can save $30-$40 per week. This gives you a total savings of up to $160 for the month.

4.  Pause. Put off a discretionary major purchase (like new TV, sporting equipment, computer, cell phone, etc.) redirect the money toward the Make Your Mark Initiative.

5.  Have your kids host a car wash with their friends and donate the profits! They could easily make $100+ and donate the profits to the Make Your Mark Initiative.

6. Pack lunch (and eat at home). Get this—the average household spends about $3,030 on food outside of the home each year. That’s $253 per month! Buying lunch a few times a week may seem harmless in the moment (especially when your favorite restaurant is walking distance from your office), but you can save quite a bit of money just by packing a lunch. Not only that but a lot of times you can buy a solid week’s worth of groceries for the same price as two dinner meals out. Instead, prepare your food at home and watch your savings pile up month after month.

7.  Give up a habit! Easier said than done, but not impossible. For example, a specialty drink from Starbucks plus tax can add up to $160 over a month.
